DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department is investigating a shooting on the city’s southeast side.
Just before 3 p.m. officers with the DMPD responded to SE 14th Street and Park Avenue on multiple reports of shots fired in the area. According to the DMPD, several 911 callers reported someone was firing a gun in a parking lot in the 3200 block of SE 14th Street, with one caller reporting that two people might have fired guns at each other.
The DMPD said that responding officers located evidence at the scene suggesting a shooting had occurred. The potential shooter(s) had fled the scene before officers arrived. No information about whether any injuries occurred during the shooting has been released.
According to the DMPD, there’s no ongoing danger to the neighborhood.
