Get ready for a cool down this weekend in Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa — Spotty showers are spinning through the state today around a low pressure system. Most of the light rain will fall in northern Iowa by 10 PM with a tenth of an inch or less possible.

The wind will be gusting close to 50 MPH today.

The winds will start to calm down overnight and it will be getting colder. The winds will still be noticeable out of the northwest on Saturday with gusts closer to 30 MPH.

More rain is on the way next week. Some of the heaviest will be falling Monday night through Tuesday.
