Former Ankeny Hawk and Iowa Hawkeye Brody Brecht is one of the biggest baseball prospects to ever come out of the state of Iowa.

Brecht was rafted 38th overall in the 2024 MLB draft by the Colorado Rockies. MLB scouts fell in love with his 100+ mph fastball and nasty slider.

Brecht has started his professional career in single A Fresno, and has a 3.21 ERA in 6 starts. 34 strikeouts in 19 innings.
