‘These are the moments you just want to stay in forever’: Clark grateful for Carver return

Caitlin Clark’s homecoming had a little bit of everything. A return to the locker room, court and atmosphere where she did historic things on a nightly basis.

College basketball’s all-time leading scorer took the floor at Carver-Hawkeye Arena Sunday as a member of the Indiana Fever. Many of her former teammates, coaches, and family members court side for the show.

“I think it’s hard to put into words exactly what it means to me,” Clark said. “It’s almost overwhelming to a point, I’m very thankful to be able to come back to a place that continues to support me and see old friends that are having a great time getting to watch me do my thing.”

“Even though it was just dinner last night, it was just fun to come back here and feel like you’re in college again in a way. It was a little weird going in the locker room, and something about this gym just makes me play well.”

“But a lot of gratitude, and thankfully I can share it with my family too. A lot of them were here, my grandparents were here, they don’t get to come to many either. These are the moments you just want to stay in forever, so I’m certain I’ll be looking back at a lot of pictures from today.”
