Armed suspect & accomplice flee on ATV after Des Moines robbery

DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines police are investigating an armed robbery that happened Tuesday morning.

Sgt. Paul Parizek, spokesperson for the Des Moines Police Department, said the robbery at 3733 Easton Blvd. was reported to police at 7:00 a.m. A clerk at the business, Iowa Clouds Tobacco, told police that a male armed with a handgun robbed the store and got away with cash.

According to Sgt. Parizek, the suspect ran across the street, where a getaway driver was waiting on an ATV. The two fled the scene heading westbound.

Police said the suspect was wearing a black hoodie and a brown hat. The amount of money stolen was not released.

There is no ongoing danger to the public tied to the incident, police said.
