DES MOINES, Iowa — A new industrial park on the south east side of Des Moines is ready for big businesses to move in.
The City of Des Moines announced on Thursday that the nearly 300-acre site has been designated as “development-ready” by the Iowa Economic Development Authority through its certified sites program. This program utilizes third-party firms to fully vet a site for investment to address any company concerns about developing an area.
According to the city, the new industrial park is located south of East Army Post Road, near the U.S. Highway 65 interchange. The park stretches from SE 36th Street to SE 45th Street between East Army Post Road and East Pine Avenue.
“The Southeast Des Moines Industrial certified site signals that Des Moines is open for business,” Des Moines Mayor Connie Boesen said. “Des Moines is a community with great opportunities to live, work and play. This site will help Des Moines build on those strengths on the southeastern side of the city and is a game changer for attracting new businesses.”
