DES MOINES, Iowa — Police are investigating a shooting incident in Des Moines’ Merle Hay neighborhood.
It happened a little after noon on Tuesday in the 3700 block of 56th Street. Sgt. Paul Parizek, spokesperson of the Des Moines Police Department, said there are no known injuries from the incident at this time, but evidence of gunfire, including shell casings, were recovered at the scene.
Sgt. Parizek said the scene was secure. Police don’t believe there is any ongoing danger in the neighborhood.
An increased police presence is expected in the neighborhood as the investigation continues.
