It has not been a chamber of commerce day in central Iowa, with colder air, breezy conditions, raindrops and snowflakes moving in. Things get a little better on Monday, as shown in the weather timeline below:


The system that brought us storms into the early morning hours departs this evening while continuing to drop rain and snow. Any accumulation would be light and on grassy areas in central Iowa. Lows Sunday night will be in the upper 20’s, and low 30’s. Bundle the kids up for the morning bus!



Our next chance of rain comes through on a breezy Tuesday morning. It appears we’ll see a break before more storms, some strong, move in late Tuesday night.


Both the Storm Prediction Center and Colorado State’s severe weather algorithms highlight parts of Iowa for the possibility of strong storms during the early hours on Wednesday, with wind and hail being the main threats. Precipitation should shift to scattered light showers on a windy Wednesday afternoon.

Highs for the next six days are below. It appears we’ll be in a cool and dry pattern for the first half of April.
