MARION, Iowa — 2 people were arrested Saturday after robbing a Walmart and leading officers on a police chase.
According to court filings, just before 4:30 p.m. Marion Police Department officers were called to a Walmart located at 5491 Highway 151 on reports of two people accused of theft.
As Marion Police officers arrived Walmart employees provided a description of the two individuals and the vehicle, a Dodge Ram. Police then observed the woman and man leaving the parking lot in the car, court documents state.
Officers followed the vehicle, engaging in a low-speed police chase. Authorities were able to stop the vehicle and apprehended Kimberly Isaacson, 58, and Donall Diggins, 53.
Authorities arrested Isaacson who is charged with,
- Eluding
- Interference with Offiical Acts
- Theft (3rd Degree)
Diggins was arrested and charged with Theft (3rd Degree)
Court documents state that part of the stolen merchandise was located in the back seat of the truck.
Both Isaacson and Diggins are being held at the Linn County Jail. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
