CLARION, Iowa — One student was injured following a single vehicle crash Friday involving a Clarion-Goldfield-Dows school suburban.
The announcement came from a letter from the Superintendent of Schools, Joseph Nelson, to the CGD School District. Friday evening a school suburban was transporting five students and one staff member following a school event at Hilton Coliseum in Ames when it was involved in a single-vehicle accident.
Nelson says first responders arrived on scene and provided medical assistance. One of the students was transported to a Des Moines hospital for further evaluation. The rest of the occupants were checked out by medical staff and released to their families.
The statement read in part,
We kindly ask for your understanding and that we all respect the privacy of those involved at this time. Counseling services will be available to our staff and students on Monday. We wish everyone affected by the accident on Friday night a quick recovery.

There has been no update on the condition of the student transported to the hospital.
