FORT DODGE, Iowa — Arrest warrants have been issued for a Fort Dodge man in connection to a shooting that injured one person Friday morning.
At around 4:06 a.m. members of the Fort Dodge Police Department, Webster County Sheriff’s Office, and Fort Dodge Fire Department responded to a report of a person shot in the 1400 block of 1433 4th Avenue South. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found a male suffering from a gunshot wound to the face inside a home. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment. Police said the gunshot wound is not believed to be life-threatening.
On Friday afternoon, police announced an arrest warrant was issued for 41-year-old Dontay B. Diekman in connection to the shooting. Diekman is wanted on charges of attempt to commit murder, going armed with intent, and possession of firearm as a felon.
Police described Diekman as being 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing around 220 lbs. Police also said Diekman should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
