Fort Dodge police investigating after man shot in the face

FORT DODGE, Iowa — The Fort Dodge Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one man injured early Friday morning.

A 911 call came in at 4:06 a.m. about someone who had been shot at a residence in the 1400 block of 4th Ave. S, according to a news release from the FDPD. When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the face. He was transported to Unity Point-Trinity Regional Medical Center, and police said his injuries aren’t believed to be life-threatening.

Investigators are working to determine what happened Friday morning. FDPD said it didn’t appear the shooting incident was connected to another shooting that happened in Fort Dodge on Thursday.
