ANKENY, Iowa — Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny opened on March 22nd for the season and several golfers were excited to return to the course.

Jason Hart, a Golfer who golfed at Otter Creek on its opening day, said the weather wasn’t an issue.

“Pretty good. It was a little chilly when we first got out here this morning, but if you’re dressed for the occasion, then it’s not so bad.” Hart said.

Jay Ramsey, a Golfer who has golfed at Otter Creek for years, said that the course opens depending on the weather over the spring.

“Some years it’s open, you know, maybe ten days earlier. But this year, you know, the weather really wasn’t cooperating. So opening today is as good as any other day.” Ramsey said.

Nick Fiel, a Golfer who golfed at Otter Creek on its opening day, said that he went to the driving range to get warmed up.

“I call today. And the pro they answered said, Yeah, we’re open today. So, I thought I’d come down and hit the driving range and, you know, get loosened up and stuff.” Fiel said.
