How much snow fell in Iowa’s last(hopefully) winter gasp

A significant blizzard with heavy snow impacted northwest Iowa on Wednesday. Some counties, especially Kossuth County, received more than a foot of snow. On the eastern and southern edges of the heavy snow band, places like Iowa Falls, Jewell, and Adair received about 2″. Des Moines received a trace of snow.

The snow, in combination with 50 to 60 mph wind gusts, led to whiteout conditions and travel was not advised in northwest Iowa for much of Wednesday.
