DES MOINES, Iowa — A home in the northeast part of the Des Moines metro is a total loss following a fire that began Tuesday morning.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office tells WHO 13 a call came in around 10:30 a.m. about a fire in the 4400 block of NW 26th Street. A plume of thick black smoke was visible from miles away.
Officials said the home was unoccupied at the time. No injuries were reported.
Crews from the Des Moines and Delaware Township fire departments responded.
