DES MOINES, Iowa — Dressed in their finest green, Iowans took to Annie’s Irish Pub and other Court Ave. businesses for a block party to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
“We are having a blast. Everybody is having so much fun. I think it’s 70 degrees, and the band is great, the DJs are great, and we have been busy since 9 a.m. today, it’s been awesome,” said Annie Baldwin, owner of Annie’s Irish Pub.
Guests could find a taco truck, ice luge, and live music during the party. But all Iowans could talk about was just how lucky they felt to have nice weather for the event.
“The weather has been amazing this year, we never have this kind of weather [for St. Patrick’s Day] it’s been great this year,” said one party-goer.
