DES MOINES, Iowa — Emergency responders are on the scene of a crash on Highway 5 east of Fleur Drive Monday morning.

The Des Moines Police Department’s X account says the crash is in the westbound lanes. The Iowa DOT says the left lane is blocked because of the crash as of 6:20 a.m. Injuries have been reported but police have not released how many vehicles were involved or the extent of the injuries.

Drivers should expect delays in the area as crews work to clear the scene. Drive cautiously and give emergency responders the time and space to complete their work.
