DES MOINES, Iowa — A water main break is affecting Drake University’s campus.
The university sent out a Bulldog Alert shortly before 6:00 a.m. Friday to inform students and staff of the issue. It said the City of Des Moines notified them of a water main break and all water in the Quads will be off. Hot water is off campuswide, but hot showers will be available for students at the Bell Center.
Drake said the water is expected to be out until 3:00 p.m.
Des Moines Water Works’ website shows an emergency outage due to a water main break affecting customers on Forest Avenue between 27th Street and 29th Street. Water may be off or throttled down in the area due to the issue.
