We began Sunday in a similar fashion to Saturday, with chilly lows. But temperatures rose farther than they did on Saturday. Your weather timeline takes you into some changes in the forecast.

Lows will bottom out after midnight, and then steady before climbing into Monday. It will be a decent early March day at the bus stop.

Rain will begin Monday night and become heavy into Tuesday. Severe weather looks to stay south of us, though we may see hail in addition to heavy rain in Iowa.

Rain will begin changing over to snow Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning. Before it does so, we’ll get a needed soaker, as shown in the precipitation images below:

For most of us, the snow looks to come to an end by lunchtime on Wednesday. However, winds gusting in excess of 40mph will stay with us for the afternoon hours, reducing visibilities.

A look at two snow total forecasts from trusted computer models. A heavier band looks to set up in western and northern Iowa.

Another chance of rain and snow looks to move into Iowa on Friday. Beyond that, it looks to stay quiet until the middle of the month:

Turning to temperatures, we’ll start the week off warm before cooling. We look to warm up again as we head into the following week.

Extended forecasts give us a decent chance of being warm and dry until the 15th or so:
