Name of hit-and-run victim released, DMPD investigates

DES MOINES, Iowa — The name of the man killed in Saturday’s hit-and-run crash has been released, Des Moines Police Department continues their investigation.

According to the DMPD, at approximately 11:36 p.m. on Saturday a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the 900 block of Hull Avenue. Officers arrived to find a 46-year-old male in critical condition.

Despite life-saving efforts, Eric Scott Andrews died at the scene.

According to witnesses, the victim was struck by at least two vehicles who both left the scene and have yet to be identified.

The investigation into the incident continues, including investigators reviewing both residential and commercial surveillance footage in an attempted to identify the vehicles involved in this incident.
