PELLA, Iowa — Police in Pella are investigating after a man tried to rob a restaurant Sunday night.

The Pella Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify the would-be robber. The incident happened around 7:00 p.m. at the El Charro Mexican Restaurant at 514 Main Street. Police said the suspect entered the restaurant and demanded cash.

Captain Paul Haase said no weapon was displayed or mentioned by the suspect, but it appeared he was implying that he had one by keeping his hand in his pocket. The restaurant staff told the suspect to leave and he did. No money was taken.
