Snow continues to fall in central Iowa as I type this blog. The images below show a few preliminary totals from today. We’ll be updating these in the evening shows and on www.who13.com.


Your weather timeline takes you through a frigid Thursday and an afternoon snow chance on Friday:

Air temperatures will bottom out below zero over most of the viewing area by morning, but wind chills will bottom out in the dangerous category. You’ll want to really bundle yourself and the kids up as you head out the door Thursday.



We have three more snow chances ahead. A small system will bring snow to central Iowa during the afternoon hours on Friday. Totals look to be light at this time, in the 0.5″ – 2″ range.

Saturday brings our second chance, when an additional 1-4″ may fall. Again, these forecasts will likely change.

The 50 members of the European ensemble computer model are below. Agreement up and down through a column of members indicates decent chances for snow, which is what we see here:
