DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning.
According to police, 15 to 20 shots were fired around 1:30 a.m. damaging a house in the 1600 block of Dean Avenue, just east of downtown Des Moines.
Several police crews responded after officers in the area heard those shots fired. Outside of damage to a house, shell casings were found at the scene. Police said that there were no injuries to report and no arrests have been made. Scanner traffic indicated that officers believed that the shooting was a drive-by.
The department continues to investigate and will release more information when it becomes available.
