UPDATE: Missing Polk County man found safe

UPDATE: The Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced that Adams has been found safe.

POLK COUNTY, Iowa — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s help in locating a missing 75-year-old man.

According to the sheriffs office, Ned Adams was last seen near his home in the 9600 block of NE Frisk Drive in Ankeny. It’s believed Adams retrieved his mail around 1 p.m. Wednesday, but he hasn’t been seen or heard from since. Adams has dementia and may become confused easily, the sheriff’s office said.

Adams is 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs about 200 lbs., has green eyes, and has gray hair. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket and gray ISU sweatpants.

Anyone with information about Adams’ whereabouts is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at (515)286-3333 or their local law enforcement agency.
