Caitlin Clark bringing the Fever to Carver-Hawkeye Arena in preseason game

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Hawkeye hoops legend Caitlin Clark hasn’t played her last game at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, even though her No. 22 Hawkeye jersey will be retired this weekend.

On Thursday, the Indiana Fever announced it will play a pre-season game against the Brazilian National Team on May 4, 2025. Clark was the Fever’s #1 draft pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft and was the league’s 2024 Rookie of the Year.

“We couldn’t be more excited to play at Carver-Hawkeye Arena and we know Iowa fans will deliver an unforgettable homecoming for Caitlin,” said Indiana Fever President of Basketball Operations Kelly Krauskopf. “Countless Hawkeye fans have become Fever fans, and we consider them family. That’s what will make this preseason matchup so special for us.”

Tickets for the Fever’s pre-season game will be available through the University of Iowa, with more details expected at a later date. The university said if tickets become available to the general public, updates will be shared on the Fever’s social media channels.

Broadcast information for the May 4th game will also be released later.

Clark’s jersey is being retired on Feb. 2nd, following the Hawkeyes’ matchup against #4 USC. Tipoff for the game is 12:30 p.m. and the game is being broadcast on FOX.
