ALTOONA — Southeast Polk High School is celebrating one of its science teachers who received word she is one of the Iowa teachers to earn the Presidential Award for Excellence for Mathematics and Science Teacher.

The announcement is a bit delayed due to the Covid years.

Allison McPherren earned the 2021 recognition in science. Ankeny Prairie Trail Elementary teacher Angela Schneden earned the 2021 recognition in Mathematics. Find out more in this week’s Scholastic Spotlight.
