DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department is investigating reports of gunfire near the Iowa State Fairgrounds.

According to a DMPD post on X, at approximately 8:24 p.m., the Des Moines Police Department was called to East 33rd Street and East University Avenue on reports of shots fired.

Police say victims report being fired at while in traffic.

No injuries have been reported as this time.

Expect an increased police presence as the investigation progresses.
