AMES, Iowa — The Ames Police Department has released the name of the man who died after being shot over the weekend.
At around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday officers with the Ames Police Department responded to an apartment in the 200 block of South 5th Street. When first responders arrived on scene they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an Ames hospital where he later died from his injuries.
On Tuesday, the police department identified the victim as 25-year-old Parker L. Stoneburner of Boone. An autopsy has been scheduled.
Police said no arrests have been made in the case.
The police department is asking residents in the area to review doorbell or surveillance video for any suspicious activity from around 6 to 7 p.m. on Saturday night.
