Proposed legislation would help firefighters diagnosed with cancer

DES MOINES, Iowa — Firefighters put their lives on the line for the rest of us every single day but it’s not the on-the-job dangers that put them most in danger. Firefighters have a 9% higher risk of being diagnosed with cancer and a 14% higher risk of dying from cancer than the general population.

Tasha Law from the Des Moines Fire Department joined Erin Kiernan on the WHO 13 News at Four Tuesday to discuss some of the proposed legislation that could help lower those numbers. View the video below:
