Iowa State, Iowa prepare seniors for 2025 Reese’s Bowl

DES MOINES, Iowa — Iowa and Iowa State are preparing to send several football players to the 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl.

The Reese’s Senior Bowl is considered one of the first steps in the NFL Draft process and is a preeminent college football all-star game. According to the website, last year’s April game produced 110 picks in the total, representing 43% of the NFL Draft.

As of Friday, Iowa State will send five players, and Iowa will send two players to the annual all-star game.

The Hawkeyes announced they will be sending defensive back Sebastian Castro and defensive line Yahya Black.

Iowa State announced defensive back Darien Porter, wide receiver Jayden Higgins, and wide receiver Jaylin Noel’s attendance in Decembe4 2024. On Thursday, Iowa State announced defensive back Malik Verdon and offensive line Jalen Travis would join the 2025 Reese’s bowl roster.

As of Thursday, Iowa State is one of six schools with at least five players attending the showcase.

Practices will be held January 28 to 30 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and are open for the public. The players will also partake in a parade on January 31, where local high school marching bands will lead players, mascots, and NFL cheerleaders through a Mobile style Mardi Gras parade.

The Reese’s Senior Bowl will be held February 1 at the Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Alabama. Kickoff is at 1:30 p.m. central time and will be televised on the NFL Network.
