DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department is investigating gunfire in the Drake neighborhood.

At approximately 6:42 p.m., the DMPD responded to the 2300 block of University Avenue on a 911 report of gunfire.

The caller reported hearing gunfire near a business. Additional calls were made reporting hearing gunfire in the neighborhood.

According to the DMPD, the scene is secure and that there is no ongoing danger to the neighborhood.

Police say no injuries have been reported but they are investigating property damage.
