Jason Momoa shares updates on wildfires threatening his Los Angeles neighborhood

FERNWOOD, CALIFORNIA — “All my aloha. Stay safe.”

That is the message from Iowa-native Jason Momoa to the firefighters working to protect his neighborhood in Fernwood, California as wildfires continue to burn out of control. Momoa took to Instagram on Thursday to share pictures of the burning hills around the neighborhood and the legion of firefighters on the scene working to stop their spread.

Along with the photos, Momoa shared a message apparently sent from a friend in the area that read in part: “Flames are on the hillside and there are firefighters EVERYWHERE – all calm and confident. Two bulldozers are making their way up Entrada to help with brush clearance and control. The canyon is PACKED with firefighters. Airdrops are happening every few minutes.”

Momoa was born in Hawaii but grew up with family in Norwalk, Iowa. He was propelled to superstardom with his role as Khal Drogo in season one of Game of Thrones. He cemented his star status when he was cast as Aquaman in the DCU film series. He’ll appear in “A Minecraft Movie” this summer and next year in “Fast X: Part 2” – the final installment in the long-running film series.
