BOONE COUNTY, Iowa — Two people were killed and two others were seriously injured in a crash on Monday.
According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, at around 11:48 a.m. first responders were called to the intersection of 310th Street and G Avenue, northeast of Perry, on a report of a crash. The crash report states that an SUV was traveling eastbound on 310th Street and failed to yield the right of way to a northbound pickup truck. The two vehicles collided in the middle of the intersection.
The driver of the pickup truck, 39-year-old Javier Hernandez, and his passenger, 62-year-old Amelia Huaracha De Hernandez, died from their injuries at the scene, the crash report states. The two occupants of the SUV were seriously injured and transported to hospitals via air ambulance.
No additional information has been released.
