DES MOINES, Iowa — A pedestrian was critically injured after being hit by a vehicle on the southeast side of Des Moines Monday night.
At around 6:28 p.m. the Des Moines police and fire departments responded to a report of a car vs. pedestrian crash in the 5500 block of SE 14th Street. According to DMPD, when first responders arrived on scene they found an adult male suffering from critical injuries. The male was transported to a nearby hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.
The northbound lanes of SE 14th Street at Diehl Avenue are temporarily closed. An investigation into the crash is ongoing and more information will be released when made available.
