GRIMES, Iowa — The city of Grimes has announced a naming rights deal with grocery chain Hy-Vee to rename the GrimesPlex sports turf facility.
The 50-acre sports complex at 1000 NE Heritage Drive will now be known as the Hy-Vee MultiPlex Powered by the City of Grimes. The deal is for five years, with the option to renew for another five years.
Grimes City Manager Jake Anderson said, “Hy-Vee is a fantastic partner in our community and a natural fit for this facility. Together, we will continue to provide a top-tier sports facility for residents and visitors, fostering recreational and economic growth for Grimes.”
The facility opened fully in the spring of 2024 and has fields that can host soccer, softball, and baseball. It’s located near Hy-Vee’s grocery store in Grimes.
“We look forward to seeing the positive impact that this partnership will bring to the local community and surrounding areas,” said Hy-Vee Vice President of Sports Marketing Matt Nickell.
