AMES, Iowa — Iowa State University is making history by having three teams ranked in the top 10 of the Associated Press polls. Men’s Basketball is ranked 5th, Women’s Basketball is ranked 8th, and the Cyclone Football team is ranked 9th in its poll.
For students, the energy on campus is higher than ever before.
“The energy’s definitely been different in the past four years. I’m a senior now, so it’s definitely different with the people, of camaraderie, and now everyone’s eyes are shining on Iowa State and the Cyclone environment, so I would say people are more excited to see what’s going on,” Marijke Mendeszoon, and Iowa State Senior, said.
ISU’s football team has had a stellar season so far, going undefeated for seven games, adding to the excitement on campus.
“It’s definitely been more lively than ever before being 7-0. It’s crazy, especially since it’s almost been, like, 100 years since we were 7-0 so the game this weekend has been super fun,” said Jake Johnson, a Junior at Iowa State said.
Iowa State will face off against Texas Tech on Saturday during homecoming in Ames with kickoff at 2:30 p.m.
