DES MOINES, Iowa– The Animal Rescue League of Iowa is moving into a bigger area to house the rescue’s largest animals in need.
The 21-acre property is a game changer for the ARL regarding barn animals, specifically their horses. The barn allows for larger pastures, paddocks, and even an indoor arena for rehabilitation.
The property was bought at auction, and currently, the ARL is looking for donations to help raise funds for the renovation and mission of the barn.
“Our goal is to raise 6 million dollars to help with transforming the future of animal rescue, that money is going to cover the renovation and remodeling of the new ranch and will also cover the conversion of the current barn that’s going to be used as the rescue intake and rebab center,” said KC Routos, the Director of Development and Communications for the ARL.
The ARL says with this new ranch space, their old barn can now be used to help with larger intake cases, as the rescue has been at or over capacity for months.
