DES MOINES, Iowa — Two people were injured Saturday in a motorcycle crash.

According to a DMPD post on X, at around 11:42 a.m. the Des Moines Police Department and Des Moines Fire Department were dispatched to Southeast 14th Street and Virginia Avenue on reports of a crash.

Police arrived to find two people involved in a motorcycle crash. The motorcycle operator and passenger were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Northbound lanes were temporarily closed, the roadway has since been reopened.

The Des Moines Police Department Traffic Unit has opened an investigation into the crash.
