CALHOUN COUNTY, Iowa — A man charged with murder in the gruesome death of a Farnhamville teen has been arraigned in the case.
Nathaniel Bevers-McGivney, 21, entered a written plea of not guilty Friday to the charges of first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse. He is accused of killing 17-year-old Michele “Luna” Jackson on September 22nd.
The trial information filed in the case says Bevers-McGivney cut the victim’s throat with a knife, stabbed her multiple times and his actions were premeditated with the intent to kill her. He’s also accused of hiding her body.
Investigators say the teen’s mother reported her missing around 11:00 p.m. on September 22nd. During the family’s search, they found Bevers-McGivney covered in blood and with some of the victim’s possessions including a scooter.
Jackson’s body was discovered the next day in Farnhamville.
Bevers-McGivney was charged with first-degree murder on September 24th.
His next scheduled court appearance is not yet listed in online court records.
