Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office investigating fatal tractor vs train crash

WINNESHIEK COUNTY, Iowa — The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a tractor and train collided, resulting in a fatality Monday afternoon.

According to the sheriff’s office, the crash happened at around 2:32 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 24 and 128th Street, which is between Fort Atkinson and Jackson Junction.

The sheriff’s office said the collision resulted in a fatal injury. No other information about the crash has been released.

An investigation into the crash is being conducted by the sheriff’s office and Canadian Pacific Railway.
