DES MOINES, Iowa – A woman was injured Monday morning after police said she was backed into by a U-Haul truck.

It happened around 9:30 a.m. at the U-Haul in the 2500 block of Hubbell Avenue in Des Moines. Sgt. Paul Parizek of the Des Moines Police Department said the woman was hit when the truck backed into her.

A witness to the incident told WHO 13 he saw the truck run the woman over and it appeared the driver did not know what they were doing.

The woman was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Sgt. Parizek said her injuries were not life-threatening.

Information about the driver of the truck was not immediately released.

The investigation into the incident continues.
