1 dead, 1 injured in north Iowa two-vehicle crash

CERRO GORDO COUNTY, Iowa — One person died in a two-vehicle crash in northern Iowa Sunday afternoon.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, it happened around 3:00 p.m. at the intersection of County Road S14 and County Road B43. That’s about six miles southwest of the city of Clear Lake.

The ISP crash report says 29-year-old Adaisha Allen of Cedar Falls was driving a Kia Forte westbound on CR B43 when her vehicle was struck at the intersection by a southbound Ford Expedition driven by 59-year-old Julie Mikkelsen of Mason City. Both vehicles rolled and entered the ditch and field southwest of the intersection.

The ISP says Allen was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mikkelsen was transported to MercyOne North Iowa. The extent of her injuries was not listed in the ISP crash report.

The investigation into the crash continues.
