DES MOINES, Iowa — A beloved fall tradition gets underway in the metro Friday.
The Beaverdale Fall Festival kicks off in Des Moines with a car show along Beaver Avenue at 5:00 p.m. Festival-goers can find food, crafts, music, and a carnival throughout the two-day event in the Beaverdale neighborhood. The festival takes place on Beaver Avenue and Urbandale Avenue between Beaver Crest Drive to the south and Adams Avenue to the north.
The parade starts at 10:00 a.m. Saturday and there are some changes to expect from previous years.
“So it is a slightly more compact parade route this year. And we’re doing that to make sure that we can efficiently move all those 80 or 90 floats and groups down Beaver Avenue,” said festival organizer Josh Steuterman.
The parade route runs from Euclid Avenue to Allison Avenue along Beaver Avenue.
The festival runs Friday and Saturday and you can find out more information about the schedule of events, performers, and vendors here.
